Tamil-003 in use
Tamil-003 produces upright, heavy Tamil-shaped forms from the Latin test positions, with strong curves and small internal spaces. It is visibly weightier than the finer Tamil-001 specimen, but appearance is only part of choosing a legacy-script file. Test the actual document and input method before substitution, checking marks and punctuation along with complete words. If the text is being migrated between applications, establish the character encoding first. A change to a Unicode font may require conversion of the text itself.
