Goudy Italic

Goudy Italic in use

Goudy Italic has a clear forward slant, contrasting serif strokes and curved details in its lowercase and descending forms. It is a candidate for a short quotation, an emphasized line or a softer companion heading. Keep the wording long enough to judge its rhythm, rather than testing isolated letters alone. Fine strokes and slanted punctuation benefit from a clean background, while generous line spacing protects descenders in a multi-line arrangement.
