PhTimes Roman shows a familiar serif Latin alphabet but substitutes specialized characters across much of the numeral and symbol test. It needs an exact-content check before being used for ordinary documents. Preview quantities, dates and punctuation together with the words, and consult any supplied character chart. A readable alphabet alone is insufficient to establish that the file behaves like a conventional general-purpose text face.
