Centaur
Creator: The Monotype Corporation
Centaur in use
Centaur has a light, open serif texture with fine strokes and modestly shaped capitals. The lowercase feels relatively airy, so a short heading or quotation can remain gentle rather than emphatic. Test it at the size it will be printed or displayed; its quieter details can fade when reduced too far. Use the spacing of a full sentence to judge the rhythm. If the layout needs a much darker heading, compare another actual weight rather than simply applying an artificial bold effect.
